The
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building
Rating System® is a voluntary, consensus-based national standard for
developing high-performance, sustainable buildings. Members of the U.S.
Green Building Council representing all segments of the building industry developed LEED and continue to contribute to its evolution.

Building Features
The ELC Building is a LEED Certified Building at the Silver level because it includesthese features:
• Easy access to public transportation • Reduced site disturbance and minimal development footprint • A stormwater management plan • Landscape and exterior designs that reduce heat islands • Light pollution reduction • Water efficient landscaping • Water saving devices • Energy conservation features • Uses materials that minimize ozone depletion • Used locally occurring materials when constructing the building • Used certified woodª • Included an indoor environmental quality management plan • Used low-emitting adhesives, sealants, paints, carpet, and composite wood • Optimizes use of daylight as a lighting source
